[Q] Poor 4G signal after repair topic

I have given the forums a good search regarding this issue!

I dropped my N5 D821 a month or so back and cracked the screen and braved a self repair. I feel I was pretty careful in not scratching the PCB and made sure to re-attach the black and white antennae. With my newfound confidence I recently decided to replace the micro-USB charger since it was a poor fit

For the past few days I have noticed a constant drop from 4G -> H+ -> G -> no connection. It cycles like this, or sometimes flat out doesn't connect and requires me to switch the radio on and off for a connection. It also gets quite warm towards the top of the phone.

I can't tell whether this is anything to do with recent firmware updates, or my meddling inside the case that has caused some damage.

I have:
The SIM works fine in an old phone with a constant H+ connection and my girlfriend on the same network works fine with another phone.

Does anyone have any suggestions of what to try?
Everything else about the phone works (excluding the notification LED on the new micro-USB part, but i'll take that over not being able to charge)
and now I am sat here with what was once a beautiful phone and is now no better than an iPod.

Unfortunately I bought this from Amazon.com whilst I was in the US and it is an international version with a UAE warranty so RMAing it is out of the question

p.s. does anyone want to buy a refurbished N5 white with intermittent 4G connection?
